ONDO STATE STUDENTS TO CLEAN AKURE DEC 21

As Nigerian cities continue to suffer from increasing waste caused by ineffective waste management culture, the National Association of Ondo state students led by the President, Com. Ayoade Kikiowo is set to embark on the biggest student action against waste in the city of Akure. The action dubbed “Clean City Train” will take place in Akure, Ondo State on Saturday, 21st of December, 2019.

Com. Kikiowo mentioned that Clean City emphasizes the need for students to stand up and take actions as responsible custodians of the earth. Clean City is a cleanup exercise within the city that is expected to create immediate change, awareness and inspire students to implement steps towards lasting waste management.

“We will mobilize our members to clean Akure uniquely. We will clean up our city and have fun doing it. It is our end of the year gift to our great state," said the Global president, Com. Kikiowo Ayoade.

“700 students walking the streets cleaning, dancing and having fun will be an absolutely amazing spectacle. The ultimate carnival,” Com. Kikiowo added.

The President appreciated the support the Association has been receiving from the Ondo state Government, Deji of Akure, State Ministries of Environment, Youth and Sport Development, Waste Management Board and ZL Global Alliance for their commitment to take positive action always.

Com. Kikiowo further invited Ondo state students to be a part of the community-centric experience and the Clean City train.
