Hardship: Engr. Hamzat Writes President Tinubu, Begs For Succour

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Through,

The Iyaloja General of Nigeria

Folasade Tinubu Ojo,

I hope this letter finds you well. As a concerned citizen, I am writing to implore Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during these challenging times. Now, more than ever, it is crucial that we extend our patience and grace to our leader as he navigates the complexities of governance.

To strengthen our national currency, I propose several measures that can be implemented with your esteemed guidance. Firstly, I urge top government officials and fellow Nigerians to refrain from unnecessary travels abroad for medical tourism and vacations. Instead, let us channel our resources and support towards building our healthcare infrastructure domestically.

Furthermore, school fees paid abroad should be redirected to a committee supervised directly by the president. This will ensure accountability and contribute to the stability of our economy. Additionally, I suggest that manufacturers be provided with direct access to dollars, coupled with stringent monitoring of imported goods to prevent abuse and ensure economic sustainability.

In order to address the demand for foreign currency, I recommend that the Federal Government facilitate importation through subsidy funds. This will stimulate economic growth while alleviating pressure on our currency reserves. Moreover, providing a one-time payment of 200,000 Naira to individuals with National Identification Numbers (NIN) can help mitigate financial burdens on the government and its citizens.

Furthermore, it is imperative that security operatives cease the arrest and harassment of bureau de change operators, as this only exacerbates the scarcity of dollars. We must work together to find constructive solutions to our currency challenges.

Lastly, I propose a temporary suspension of passport issuance by the Ministry of Interior to reduce the outflow of foreign currency and prioritize our national interests.

I trust that with your leadership and the support of fellow Nigerians, we can overcome these challenges and build a stronger, more resilient nation. Thank you for your attention to these matters.

Yours sincerely,

Engr. Hamzat Adams
