PRESS RELEASE FROM THE OFFICE OF NANS JCC CHAIRMAN ONDO AXIS

The National Association of Nigerian Students [NANS], Joint Campus Committee of Ondo state Axis, condemns in its totality and entirety the persistent and continued fuel scarcity plaguing the nation.

In the face of the fuel scarcity, movement of goods and services has become very difficult and this has forced prices of food items and other commodities up steeply, thereby making life very unbearable for the average Nigerian.

The incessant fuel scarcity has become so worrisome, as Most private filling stations now take advantage of fuel scarcity to sell fuel at between N145 and N150 per litre which is very appalling. What this means is that the body in charge has dropped the ball, because it is lagging behind in its responsibilities towards checkmating the anomalies.
It is quite disheartening and appalling that the four refineries in Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna are functioning at a sub-optimal capacity and the country continues to spend substantial foreign exchange to import fuel. The fact that the bulk of Nigeria’s crude oil is still refined abroad is very pathetic and disgusting.

President Muhammadu Buhari who is also the substantive Minister of Petroleum Resources, is hereby challenged to ameliorate the sufferings of Nigerians by resolving the fuel scarcity crisis and ending this shame of a blessed nation.
