| Mufasa and Simba |
After much anticipation, Lion King premieres in cinemas tonight. The movie, whose first adaptation was produced in 1994, after 23 years is finally here again with a new look. The movie centers on a young cub who lost its father at an early age due to his 'disobedience'. Unbeknownst to Simba, other circumstances led to its father's death. Shouldering the guilt, he saunters off to a care-free life.
The casts,however are quite phenomenal. In the first adaptation, James Earl Jones, who was most notably used as the voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise, was also the voice of Mufasa in the original movie. He has lent his voice, once again to the new movie as Mufasa. Other stars in the movie are Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce Knowles as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar.
Beyonce also curated and produced the tracks in the franchise, titled "The Lion King: The Gift". The album will be released on the 19th of July, 2019
