De Ligt arrives in Turin: Juventus Confirms

            De Ligt arriving Turin

The Old Lady confirmed the arrival of the young, highly rated, defender in Turin. The 19 year old Ajax captain is reported to be completing his move to Juventus on a deal worth  75 million. With Andrea Barzagli leaving in the summer, they have replaced the 38-year-old with  the signing of three rising stars this summer.

Juventus announced his arrival in Turin with a series of videos:

De Ligt is expected to complete his medical on Wednesday and could still join the squad on their pre-season tour of Asia. Maurizio Sarri would sure be delighted with the signing of De Ligt as it is a solution to the problem of the aging defenders in the squad. The Bianconeri had signed Cristian Romero, 21, who will spend the 2019-20 season on loan at Genoa, and Merih Demiral, 21, who will most likely stay in the club and learn from both Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.
Sarriball depends on defenders who are good passers of the ball, and Matthijs excels in that aspect boasting a passing accuracy of 89.3 per cent last season, a stat most midfielders struggle to garner. He is also a good addition in terms of goals, scoring seven goals across all competitions, a high tally for a young defender.
