No fewer than Four thousand nine hundred and fifty (4,950) new intakes were matriculated at the 40th matriculation ceremony of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto for the 2018/2019 academic session out of about twenty-six thousand (26,000) applicants, SMART360 has gathered.
The matriculation ceremony took place yesterday 31st of May at the school premises.
Speaking at the matriculation ceremony, the vice chancellor, Prof. Abdullah Abdu Zuru revealed that the university prioritised the directives of the federal government in the admission of its students. He relayed that out of a total twenty-six thousand applicants, the university is witnessing the matriculation of four thousand nine hundred and fifty (4,950) registered students.
Breaking down the analysis, the Vice Chancellor noted that 71.80% are science-based students while 28.20% are Arts and Humanities based students, thereby conforming with the federal government directives on science to humanity student ratio of 60:40.
While administering the matriculation oath, Prof. Zuru urged the new students to be self disciplined, work hard and shun unethical conducts, and acts that could pose threats to the nation at large.
