ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT, SULAIMAN MAITO, OTHERS ENDORSE EDUCATION SUPPORT CAMPAIGN


The Ondo state government has given its total support to a campaign to help renovate secondary school libraries. The campaign tagged "EDUCATION SUPPORT CAMPAIGN" is an initiative of the National association of Ondo state students and a Nongovernmental organization (NGO), the AURUM FOUNDATION.

While on an interactive visit to the Commissioner of Education, the delegation lead by Mr. Aruwajoye Oluwaseun Jomax stressed the importance of a well furnished library to the process of having a functional education in any society. He noted that as one of the 5 cardinal programs of the state government, JMPPR, the provision of a functional education cannot be achieved without a conducive learning environment and an easy access to important textbooks.  In is words "We are out to sort for support in order to help equip 100 school libraries in the state. This will help reduce the burden of buying textbooks on the parents."

While responding, the commissioner for Education, Pastor Femi Agagu thanked the delegation for the great initiative noted that they are open to give the necessary support to the team. He highlighted some of the great plans the government are pulling together to help achieve their aim of a functional education.

The honorable member representing Akoko north west constituency I at the Ondo state house of Assembly also expressed readiness to support the initiative. He commended the efforts of the state government in the education sector and stated that the idea of equipping school libraries by well-to-do stakeholders in the state is encouraging.
