The leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students NANS has call on Governor Fayemi to consider popular and acceptable candidate ahead of 2019 General election,
In a statement issued by the NANS SENATE President of the association, Comrade MUHAMMAD GAMBO during their National Executive Meeting held in Abuja, The president commend the effort of Ekiti State Governor for Restoring the glory of Ekiti State as a state known for quality education and a Land of Honour. Within two weeks of assuming office,the Governor has removed illegal levies, pronounced free education from primary to secondary school, reinstatement of Students Union, released funds for accreditation and setting up of visitation panel which is highly commendable.
Also, speaking on the 2019 general election, the President call on Dr Fayemi not to over look the interest of the people of Ekiti State in choosing APC candidates, saying only the popular and acceptable candidate can win election in a free and fair contest and it is on this that NANS can support any candidate presented by APC in Ekiti State.
"We want to remind Dr Fayemi that his victory was based on acceptability and popularity, hence the need to thread on this path so that his administration can have the best people in position to compliment his developmental agenda. We want the people's voice to be heard by selecting their candidate in a democratic process that President Muhammadu Buhari government is preaching"
As a true lover of democra y that we know Dr Fayemi as,Nigerian Students urge Fayemi to yield to these warnings so as to avoid protest vote bcos NANS in her findings in Ekiti discovered that pple of Ekiti are bittered and nt happy due to manners in which candidates especially National Assembly were selected.Ahead of 2019 general election,people's interest needs to be gotten and the love that brought the governor into power must be maintained for president Buhari to triumph in Ekiti state.
Finally, the association is calling on the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Working Committee of APC to look into the matter by allowing acceptable and popular candidate who has paid their dues to the party and communities to be the flag bearer of the party because we don't need a century to effect a change, all we need is effective preparation to provoke unusual transformation.
