Twenty two Candidates set to battle for different political offices in the upcoming 2019 general elections have been successfully elected by the Alliance of Social Democrats ASD in Ondo state.
The ASD is a newly registered political party in Nigeria of just about 6 weeks old officially, but due to the responsiveness of its manifesto and ideology has started to spread all across the country like a wild fire especially among the ordinary Nigerians who genuinely desire a better country.
The event which took place on the occasion of the Party State Congress and direct primaries in Akure, the Ondo State Capital witnessed large turn out of aspirants and their supporters from all over the 18 local government of Ondo State.
The party members displayed a formidable bond with the commitment to stick with the ideology of the party for prosperity and progress of Ondo State and Nigeria in general.
Three senatorial candidates, four candidates for the house of representatives and fifteen house of assembly candidates emerged at the end of the congress.
Dame Victoria Osanyin will hoist the flag for ASD for senatorial election for Ondo north, Pastor Ogunsemore Cladious for Ondo south while Mr Rotimi Olasogba will contest for the senatorial seat for Ondo Central Senatorial district.
Speaking shortly after the congress, the State chairman of the Alliance Social Democrats, Barr. Adeola Kayode Adeola said the members were screened in line with the manifesto and ideology of the party which was to alleviate poverty in Nigeria, create jobs for the unemployed and provided all necessary facilities required of Nigeria in the 21st century.
Candidate for the Ondo South Senatorial District, Pastor Ogunsemore Claudius after expressing his reservations on the state of roads and epileptic power suply in the region promises to facilitate a positive change if elected.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials Ondo state were present at the event.
