Leadership of a socio-political group, Ekiti Rescue Team(ERT) has dissociated itself from some political aspirants who have been dropping the name of the group as sponsors of their ambitions in Ekiti State.
Convener of the group, Amb. Ilesanmi Ade-Ademola stated this in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital, on Saturday while reacting to claims by some politicians seeking elective offices in forthcoming general elections in the state.
In his address, Ade-Ademola said: "It has come to our notice that some individuals have been dropping the name of our body, Ekiti Rescue Team(ERT) as sponsors of their ambitions in the forthcoming general elections in Ekiti State.
"The leadership of ERT hereby declared that names of aspirants for different elective positions being supported by the body would soon be released.
"We, therefore, enjoin political leaders, party members and the public who are aware of what ERT represents to discountenance whatever claims any individuals might have made regarding the body and wait for the list of authentic aspirants supported by our group."
He, however, assured that aspirants who have the love of the people of Ekiti at heart are those supported by the body and their names would soon be released by the group.
