As part of the activities of bringing governance closer to the people and building human capacity. The Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo state on Natural Resources, Mr. Lawal Fatai dished out a handsome amount of money to quite number of women in Owo local government area.
The beneficiaries of the empowerment program who were drawn across the 11wards in Owo LG were full of joy and happiness as they recieved cash gifts for small scale businesses.
Mr. Lawal Fatai while speaking to press men, described the gesture as a means of rewarding loyalty and building the society. He further said it was another way of increasing the chains of small scale business in the LG and contributing to the economic growth. He charged the women to invest the money into their business and not use it for pleasure and to also see this as an encouragement to supporting the government of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Presenting the cash of #50,000 to the beneficiaries was the State woman leader of the APC, Mrs. Renike Witherspoon who admonished the women to use the funds judiciously.
