A socio-political group in Ekiti State, Ekiti Rescue Team(ERT) has called on voters in the state to eject Peoples Democratic Party-led government from seat of power by voting for the All Progressives Congress(APC) candidate in forthcoming July 14, 2018 gubernatorial election.
The group made the call on Saturday in Efon Alaaye while sensitising the electorate on the election during its One-On-One grassroots campaign.
Convener of the group, Amb. Ilesanmi Ade-Ademola, explained to the people that they should consider the harrowing experience they are going through in the hand of the Peoples Democratic Party-led government in the state through its draconian policies.
He stated that the people should retrace their footsteps and vote for Dr. Kayode Fayemi of APC to rescue themselves from harsh policies of the PDP administration.
According to Amb. Ilesanmi Ade-Ademola, "Your destiny is in your hands now and you must decide whether to continue in this poverty imposed on you by the PDP-led administration in this state or rescue yourself by voting for Dr. Kayode Fayemi of APC in a fortnight time.
"Don't let anybody deceive you by saying Prof. Olusola Eleka will be different from Governor Fayose. It's all a farce. It is the wool the mother cards that the child will spin. Eleka is Fayose and vice versa. Eleka will continue the policies of Fayose. After all, it is commonsensical, Eleka is Fayose's deputy, they both conceived the harsh policies together. It would be foolhardy for anyone to expect Eleka to expunge those policies.
"Consider your children who are at home because you couldn't pay their school fees and WAEC fees. Consider your little children who are of school age but you couldn't take them for registration because of taxes you are to pay on them. Remember the N5000 social security for your aged parents initiated by Dr. Fayemi during his first term in office and scrapped by Fayose. Don't forget they are owing public workers 8 months salaries.
And remember to ask yourself when was the last time they came to your community after the 2014 governorship election.
"I want you to be wise and vote right by banishing PDP from Ekiti State through your vote on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
"Ensure you cast your vote for Dr Kayode Fayemi of APC and wait at the polling booth until your votes are counted and recorded by the electoral officers to prevent manipulation. Shine your eyes."
The group, which shared some gifts among the people, described the gesture as a mere way of assuring them that Dr. Kayode Fayemi knows their plights and ready to ameliorate this when voted in come July 14, 2018.
