Temitope Olugbenga Kolawole was born on the 25th of October 1983 in Akure area
of Ondo state to the family Evangelist Olufemi Kolawole and Evangelist Mrs Olufunke
Kolawole.
He had his primary Education at Olufunmilayo international Nursery and primary
school Akure Ondo State. After he proceeded to Aquinas College Akure.
Temitope bags his B.sc in Economics from the prestigious Madonna University in
Okija,Anambra State and later proceeded to University of Trier in Rhineland
palatinate in Germany where he studied M.SC in Economics with major in
Developmental-Economics.
Temitope enjoyed several scholarship; the cowbell competition award 1998, annual
merit academic award from Ondo state scholarship board and many other.
1. Tell us about life as .......? this means what you do?
My name is Temitope Kolawole but on stage I'm called Temi Collinz. I am an Alumni
of Aquinas College Akure Ondo state and studied Economics in Madonna
University, Anambra State, Nigeria and also in University of Trier, Rheinland Pfalz,
Germany. Later in my life I realised that my calling is defined by helping people. I am
the founder of Assured Future Empowerment Initiative and presently based in
Germany where I am a trained developmental Economist souled out to social works.
We are raising visionary leaders with in depth not minding the background and
inculcating the right attitude in them.
Consistently listening to the voice of the
voiceless youngsters by doing everything possible to push them to the front is one of
the main things.
In 2008 the first Back to school project was conducted in Apapa area of Lagos State
where everything started.
In short we contribute to poverty alleviation programs in rural communities in Africa
through skills development and economic empowerment for less privileged,
children, women and youth, education support for children especially orphans and
vulnerable children and creation of an enabling environment.

2. What are some of the things that makes what you do different?
Having grown over the years AFEI has attracted the attention of young great and
like minds who have stories to share and work as Volunteers on this course. What
we did differently this time is that we adopted a community (Our las project was in
Okitipupa local government)
1. We helped about 300 of student back/stay in school.
2. We supported about 600 pupil with school aids (uniforms, sandals, academic fee
and writting materials)
3. We provided scholarship for about 100 students.
4. Launching a formidable private career counselling services is always important for
all of our projects.

5. We also deliver motivational talks to help to inspire young ones to keep believing
and dreaming.
3. Why did you decide to go into this line of business ?
I understand pain, I understands lack and I understand hawking after school to
support the own parents in paying school fees. This was a familiar terrain for me; this
was my life.
I grew from absolute nothing, but by sheer hard work and academic excellence I
was able to enjoy numerous grants early in life.
Furthermore, I had the chance to climb up the ladder of uncertainty to the top. I
have decided to start giving back to the society just the way I was discovered by
helping Children attain whatever height they dare to attain.
Understand, that AFEI is
doing self funded projects. This has been where my passion lies over the years.
4. When was the first time you did ..................... and how did the interest devlop?
As the founder of Assured Future Empowerment Initiative (an NGO affiliated with
United Nation) with which concentration is on mind-building,Leadership and rural
women empowerment. We started everything before 2008 but are an official
rganisation since 2008.
My interest developed by seeing that even if it is me alone, I can make a change in
people’s life. It was something I was naturally called to do.
5. What were you doing before this?
Before this I was a banker. But there was more than working in a bank for me. I am
happy that I can help people.
6. What do you consider as some of the achievements over the years?
In 8years of effective existence AFEI has registered about 10,000 pupil in school and
empowered nothing less than 5000 women all around the country and some part of
Africa. We are growing daily which I am very thankful for.
7. What are some of the challenges encountered?
Sure, every project brings in new challenges. Every new encounter brings new
challeges. That’s life. Nevertheless, through all the challenges my team and I are
working together very successfully on solutions. But we believe that there is no
challenge so far that can't be overcome. If you are interested in being part of our

8 If you have to compare what you do with counterparts in other parts of the world,
what would you say?
Well… every place has its issues and problems. But still every place brings in new
blessings. We are just here to come together and love our neighbours everywhere in
the world.
9. let's talk about some of the memorable moments in life and on the job ?
I am always fascinated by how brilliant the kids nowadays are! They are truly a
blessing! The way they speak, think and are free and fearless in their mind ist
amazing. You can see them for example on our Youtube Page which is called
Assured Future. I cant hold these brilliant minds back so I welcome you to go and see
for yourself what I mean.
10. What are the other things that occupy your time ?
I am a follower of Christ and love my church. I am thankful to God for everything he
has done so far in my life and in the life’s of many others. I take a big amount of my
time to worship, preach, read the scripture and talk about it with others.
Without God
I would not be here today. So all glory to him.
11. What changes would you like to see done differently in the sector ?
I would like to see like minded people work better together in a brotherly bond.
Sometimes I think that there is too much of the competition feeling which is sadly
more of a disadvantage for everyone. To put it short: a stronger feeling for unity is
what I would like to see done differently in this sector.
12. What is your assessment of the impact of the sector on the economy?
This question will be best answered by not approaching this issue on the surface,it's a
fundamental issue. It's sad to know that we are so blessed with innovation and
laudable ideas even implementation but it can't be put into reality.
The major
problem is that there is no sustainable policy to keep all this alive.
More importantly
that any economy that is not run in any form of an economic model is ready for a
doom.
Now that we have gotten to a position where we can't see or promise the young
ones a brighter future, a pragmatic approach and economic emergency is needed
to salvage this generation from hurting itself. We have to start encouraging inborn
creativity and purpose driven dreams.
The outcome of picking and celebrating our best students, we leave the rest without
a clue.
I observe that most families want their kids to be Medical Doctors, Lawyers,
Accountants, Engineers, etc. It is unimagineable that our families do not consider
such jobs like Welders, Fashion Designers, Hairstylists, Bakers, Carpenters, Bricklayers,
Mechanics, or even the Cobblers!
Unfortunately, these are the real industries, businesses, people that grow the
economy. Why are these people and their industries not celebrated? Are they not
our 'rest' and not 'best'?
We got our priorities wrong. Our nation needs them at this time. We do not have
Professors or Approved Experts in these fields, we do not have any standard training
for them. We do not have a useful role for them.
We cater for the best and leave the rest. Is this not part of our mistake as a nation?
No wonder we practically have no national shoe maker we can all patronise.
No
wonder we need to import cabinents in our nation. No wonder our ladies are crazy
about product from other countries.
Apart from Toyota service centers, and a few others I may not know, we have a
great number of roadside mechanics.
They sometimes help perfectly changing our
fuel filters and plugs. Still they cannot really tell about the mechanisms or detailed
functionings of a 2006 car!
Do you understand what "Rewire" means to us?
I mean we are in a difficult situations because we possibly picked the best and have
no curricula, certification or celebration for the rest.
I do not think we delibrately think they are irrelevant. I think its just because we do not
think of how relevant they are in our change much sought after as a nation.
This situation is something we are trying to change to better.
13. If you have to advise women , what would you tell them?
Do not allow others to label you. Because once you are labeled, you will be limited.
It would be tragic if the treasures and talents within you were buried under the
opinions and expectations of strangers. And I as a man think and believe that
without the involvement of women we can fight, but we cannot win. Your life always
preaches louder than your gift. Always know that you are a daughter of the most
high God, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. So to you dear women out there,
you may have to fight a battle more than once to win it because brave is not
something you feel; it is something you do.
Besides that always remember: think once
before you act, twice before you speak, and three times before you post on social
media.
14. Who or what do you consider as the greatest inspiration in life?
That is without a doubt Jesus Christ. To walk in his footsteps, to love like he loved, to
