Army general crushed to death in fatal road accident

A general in the Nigerian Army, Major
General Gabriel Kpamber has died in a road
accident while returning from a burial he
attended

– An eyewitness said Kpamber allegedly slept
of while on the steering and ran into
an oncoming truck

– The Nigerian Army is yet to make any official
statement regarding the crash
A serving general in the Nigerian Army has been
crushed to death in a fatal road accident at Uchi in
Tarka local government area of Benue state.

The late military officer identified as Major
General Gabriel Kpamber was reported to be
returning from a burial he attended in his
Ushongo village when he met his untimely death,
according to Daily Post.

The account of an unidentified person who
witnessed the crash stated that the late Kpamber
allegedly slept of while on the steering and ran
into an oncoming truck.

His body has since been evacuated and deposited
in a mortuary but the Nigerian Army is yet to
make any official statement regarding the crash.

In another development, President Muhammadu
Buhari on Monday, May 16, urged the Federal
Road Safety Commission (FRSC) to take more
stringent action against motorists who drive
against traffic.

Buhari, who was represented by the minister of
interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau , said
this while inaugurating 283 operational vehicles
for the FRSC in Abuja.

He said that in spite of the numerous successes
recorded by the Corps, there were other areas
that required urgent attention.
