Ahead of Ondo State governorship election, some reports have been going viral about a fraction of the African Democratic party (ADC) collapsing its structure with the All progressive congress (APC) in support of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s re-election.
The African Democratic party and its governorship candidate, Prince Dapo Adelegan, made a report via his official Twitter handle debunking the claim and assuring everyone not to panic of the news.

“We say emphatically that Prince Dapo Adelegan is winning the forthcoming governorship election slated for October 10, and he is willing to welcome candidates or other political parties who may wish to support his aspiration to rescue the state from the misrule of Akeredolu’s government.
"In response to the news going around about a fraction of African Democratic party in Ondo East and West joining the Ondo APC camp, by virtue of the infancy of our political party system in Nigeria, such fluidity is expected, just as other parties have experienced it at this period.
"We want to reassure our followers not to be derailed by the event. We are forging ahead, and assured of a victorious end. The same way few are leaving, many more are are joining our camp, and this is why we are not perturbed.
