Roundnews, an online news platform held a 7 days webinar that trained over 200 people in a closed whatsapp group.
The webinar which started on the 14th and ended 22nd April, 2020 taught more than five interesting topics in the field of Journalism.
According to the Managing Director, Caleb ijioma, Nigerian youths and students are expected to engage in learning this lockdown period.
He said "Roundnews have done its best to train and tutor more than 200 Nigerians. It is important that youths and students engage in learning during this period of lockdown, they need to feed their minds and learn new things, so that they can be a better person when the lockdown is over"
The first webinar session tagged "Effective News Reporting" was facilitated by Ikulajolu Adesola, an award winning freelance and campus journalist. The session ended on the 15th April.
Festus Ogun, a graduate of Law at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) and currently at the Law School, took another session on the 16th April titled “Citizen and the law”, where he talked extensively on the fundamental human rights.
On the 17th April, Habeeb Akewusola emphasized on another interesting session tagged “Business Development". Habeeb who is a Business Strategist spoke on how to start and build a business as a beginner. He stated that there are businesses we can start during this lockdown such as the VTU business and lots more.
Alfred Olufemi, who is a multiple award winning journalist took a session on the 18th April tagged “Nitty gritty of Investigative Journalism”. He went indepthly on investigative reporting.
Adewale Salami took the last session from April 20 to 22nd on the topic “Audio Production”. Adewale Salami is a music producer and broadcast engineer. He talked in details on recording, mixing and producing sounds as begineer.
The webinar ended officially on 22nd April and certificates were issued out to participants
