Tears flow bitterly in the street of Oke iya Ijoka, Akure yesterday after erosion swept away a man with his bike and the man died immediately.
Smart360media Publications correspondent gathered that members of the community have been appealing to Government for ages to come to the aid of the community because the dilapidated bridge is a death trap for many motorists and commuters in the street.
The most disheartening situation is that as at the time of filing this report the lifeless body of the man is still beside the bridge because ritualist said it is a taboo in Akure to touch or bury anybody that is being killed by water, that the family of the deceased most provide some items which include goat, money, kolanut and other items to appeals the gods of the water.
The residents of the community later appealed to the Ondo state government to come to the aid of the street to avert future occurrence.
