Report of our visit to the Little Saints-Orphanage, Dec 11, 2018

We, the volunteers in FTO(Feed The Orphans) group had decided to visit and give presents to the Children in the Little Saints Orphanage, situated at Ekoro road, Abule-egba, Lagos as part of our 10 days campaign which started from the 1st of December to 10th December 2018.
What an unforgettable trip. The eyes, the smiles of the children have lingered in us for a long time since.
Little Saints Orphanage is known to be a big organization across the country with alot of branches. The one visited at Ekoro was mainly for girls ranging from the age bracket of 0-18.The friendly atmosphere of the kids and the gifts we shared to them really made the long distance feel shorter. Our group, including 3 members, arrived at the Hope Orphanage at 9 am on Monday 11/12/2018. We appreciated the presence of volunteers of three as well as the sponsors’ gifts.
We were also very touched when we received the warm welcome from all the staff of the orphanage. All the kids were so eager to be with the volunteers as if they met their own relatives after a long time. Although, most of the kids had gone to school and were said to have a total number of 34 orphans.
The volunteers opened the program with a smile. The smile made everybody feel happy and three of the kids were discussed with, namely; Favour, Precious and Adejare. A presenter, Osas, started by introducing the volunteers. On behalf of the orphanage, there was a Vice Director of the center, Center Manager as well another staff who take care of the classes.
After the speech of Mr Osas , the representative of the Orphanage home, there were some thoughts from them. Those heartful words wished that the children would always be good, study well and have happy lives. Afterwards, the Center’s representative showed their gratefulness. The gifts for the Center this time were Clothes. The love from all the volunteers and sponsors was demonstrated by the gifts to the the children.
The volunteers really showed their love towards the children through smiles and discussions. The volunteers were issued receipts for the gifts they had brought.
They acted so passionately and innocently. So touching! Suddenly, the volunteers felt very tearful. That was an unforgettable trip. The feelings and the emotions have still stayed the same in us after this journey.
