ORPHANAGES ARE NOT DUMPSITES: THE MISEDUCATION OF SYMPATHY FOR LOVE TOWARS YOUNG ORPHANS

One of the greatest problems concerning taking care of orphans and vulnerable children in the country has been the stigmatization and fruitless sympathy shown towards these victimized children. We talk about them, cry about them, chat about them, but we never seek to dry their tears by being there for them and giving them the best care.

Recording over 17.5 million in 2014, the poll keeps rising with population to the need for a well-nourished meal requiring a sustainable diet food provision and facilities like tanks for borehole, new utensils, new cloths, to mention a few.  This is why breezy & co amongst others have come together with an essential movement #feedtheorphans #dancewithbreezy: world record by dancing for 10 day non-stop: which will help publicize the need for the world to take care of their orphanages. We plan on reaching out to at least three orphanages in every state of the federation [Nigeria] with endorsement by African hydra, Doyen foundation to assist this feat; but sincerely, this is not enough as to you reaching out to any orphanage in your area: giving them your very best and spending quality time with them because they need your help. Let’s all join hands to make this Christmas an unforgettable one for them. No more old cloth, no more over-used items, no more stigma: let’s see beyond the physical, judge them by their content not by the level of vulnerability on their faces.

Even so, our increasing population do not cater for the total number of orphans we have in Nigeria due to the rising population above orphanage facilities, our negligence and lack of volunteering to this vital part of economic development as a debilitating effect towards the less-privileged and neglected vulnerable children we co-exist with. Several staffs taking care of this kids are also not well paid and most of them could get frustrated which could transcend to the kids leading to maltreatment. Still we feed the orphanage with excessive-used item.

It’s time we wake up to our humanitarian role. Join the movement today by donating in cash and materials to seyisamuel@gmail.com or call 07051835332 for your appreciated support. Together we can be involved in helping the economy. Together we can feed the orphans, encapsulating their untapped talent.

Together we can stop pity where love matter. Together we can be noticed, encouraged and supported.

Finally, I will end by quoting biblically that we should “Give to orphanages what is fair to the orphanage; Give to orphans an equitable measure of your love”
