The National Liberation Coalition (NLC), a amalgamation of various political groups concerned about the enormous challenges rattling the country, and with a consensus pledge to work together to salvage the country, felicitates with his excellency Dr Olusegun Mimiko on his determination to intervene in the Nigerian political atmosphere.
Speaking with newsmen in Ondo City on the occasion the declaration of Mimiko for the Labour Party, the deputy National Chairman of the NLC Otunba Akin Akinbobola who was Special Adviser on Political and Mobilization Matters to the former governor said the move by Mimiko today is a show of bravery and political determination, Mimiko has served his people well in the past and his good works among the people generate enormous trust and goodwill for him as can be seen by the massive passionate crowd being witnessed today.
Akinbobola said further that Nigeria needs more persons of social democratic credentials who have good and creative ideas to come up and participate in the new envisaged politics in Nigeria, especially the youths. It is only by participation of men and women of dignity and integrity in politics that we can change the lot of Nigeria for the better, this informs the commitment of the NLC to raise new political leaders across the Nation for adequate mentoring, creating a platform for the best among the older generation to work with determined younger ones in a sustainable coalition devoid of ethnic and religious limitations that is causing setbacks among many Nigerians.
Akinbobola said he is there to represent his national chairman Dr Emeka Okengwu who is a friend to Dr Mimiko. The National Liberation Coalition shall work with social democrats like Dr Mimiko to rescue Nigeria from the present decayed state of hardship and insecurity.
