It is common to often associate whatever misfortune bedevilled us to those who probably don't align with our ways of life and living or those who refused our greetings oftentimes-"our enemies".
More often than not, our problems are a direct consequence of our inability to harken to instructions and obey advises/or our inability to keep our mouth shut while climbing the ladder of success.
Jacob said unto Judah his son "The sceptre shall not depart from Judah nor a lawgiver from bw his feet and unto him shall the gathering of the ppl be" Gen 49vs10 but Judah was always in the habit of sleeping with strange women (Gen 38vs 2) and he eventually slept with Tamar ( the wife of his late son) thinking her to be an harlot Gen 38vs15 and he deposited his staff of authority with her, just for a night of pleasure, if we should ask a "Judah" now, he will not blink b4 castigating his enemies.
The Angel of the Lord said unto Lot and his household"Escape for thy life, look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plains" Gen 19vs17 and his wife looked back from behind him and she became a pillar of salt, was her disobedience caused by enemies too?
The inability of Joseph to also keep his mouth shut made him wander in the"wilderness" of his life for many years.
There are terrible enemies here and there, agreed but self restraints, obedience to instructions and total discipline is key in year 2018, let us not pray more about our enemies but rather about ourselves.
