APC PRIMARIES: LEBI, AKINTELURE, OTHER ONDO-SOUTH LEADERS BACK ABRAHAM

Days to the gubernatorial primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state, the candidacy of Olusegun Abraham received further boost on Tuesday, when respected party leaders in the Ondo south senatorial district rallied support for him and joined other hailed his abilities to revive the state's economy.

At Irele, Ese-odo, Apoi and Igbotu where delegates from the Ilaje and Ikare extraction had gathered, a former APC Senatorial candidate in the district, Barrister Morayo Lebi, described Abraham as the only candidate with clear and evident abilities to give Ondo state what it needs most at the moment, while referring to a better economy.

"Abraham is a businessman, an international one at that, who is clearly capable to rework and revive our economy. In simple terms, he is the only aspirant we know can turn our one kobo to one naira in Ondo state without much fuss. More importantly, I trust him as a person of integrity, and I trust him to deliver for our common good in Ondo state."

One of the gubernatorial aspirants, Dr. Paul Akintelure, who recently stepped down to drum support for Abraham, reiterated Lebi's stance by stressing that need to rescue Ondo state indeed, was the reason that necessitated his decision to single out Abraham out of the many aspirants for his support.

"My dear people, we must not deceive ourselves, this is the time for right discernment and we must not miss it. You all know me well, that I will not just make a brash decision without thorough consideration and assessment. My decision to support Olusegun Abraham is because of you and me and all of Ondo", said Akintelure.

He noted further, "Our economy is in shambles, and the livelihood of our people has been depleted greatly because of this. So, it is only commonsensical to elect a practical and productive businessman to lead us from the front this time around. And, without deceiving ourselves, we all know that Olusegun Abraham is that aspirant with the most understanding of how to do this. I can assure you that this is the reason why he's got support of our party leaders too, they want someone who will achieve results and make out great party proud, and we must also support him as well-meaning Ondo citizens".

In his own words, a former chairman of the party in the state, who also is former gubernatorial aspirant in Ondo state and a revered party leader in Ondo south, Comrade Olusola Iji, actually warned that the delegates must not make the mistake of electing a candidate who isn't vastly experienced in the affairs of creating wealth and generating revenue.

"The matter on ground is no joke my dear people, it is no joke at all. In Olusegun Abraham, we have an aspirant who will use his experience to help put life into our economy and make us happy again. This matter is about our lives, when we say economy, economy, economy, we should all know it's about our lives", Iji submitted.

"Living better lives as a people is directly related to having a thriving economy, that's the true position, and we must not make the mistake of voting for another aspirant asides from Abraham, if we really want to achieve that thriving economy in this state.", he added.

The delegates meeting in Ondo south senatorial district marked another highpoint for the Abraham campaign, as more delegates rallied for his candidacy ahead of the primary polls scheduled for Saturday, the 27th of August, 2016.
