The current onslaught against the leadership of
the Senate by the Federal Government has been
condemned by Awgu Young Democrats.
Rising from a meeting at Awgu, yesterday, the
group through its chairman, Mr. Stanley Ude,
briefed journalists on the outcome of the
emergency meeting, noting that what the
government could not achieve through the trial
of the Senate President, they now want to
achieve through the back door.
As far as the Young Democrats are concerned,Ike
Ekweremadu is the only voice of the Igbo in the
political scene in Nigeria today, who has been
very outspoken on issues pertaining to the
recent killings by herdsmen across the country.
The Young Democrats will mobilize all and
sundry to ensure that this matter would not
stand.
He wondered why the standing rule suddenly
was forged when the same standing rule had
been used to confirm appointments made by the
Presidency, and the budget.
The chairman advised the Federal Government
to face the problems of how to fix the country’s
economy which had been in a very bad state.
