The President of National Association of Ondo State Students, Com. Ayoade Kikiowo has commended the Ondo State Government for its proactive measures in curbing the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
Com. Kikiowo disclosed his admiration for the proactive step while speaking to media correspondents on Monday.
Recall that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, as part of measures to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, on Monday, placed an order to close all market and its activities across the state.
Noting that the lockdown would cause difficulties to Ondo indigents, whose source of livelihood may have to be put on hold, Com. Kikiowo solicited relief materials for affected persons.
"If the virus doesn't kill people, hunger could kill people who have no money to buy food," he lamented.
He, however, stated that in trying times like this, utmost cooperation is needed by all stakeholders in the state to palliate the effects of the disease outbreak.
He further called on students and indigents of the state to cooperate with the Government in ensuring a good fight against the outbreak.
