Amalgamation and Formation of a Unified Yoruba Youth Movement, Full Press Statement

YORUBA COUNCIL OF YOUTHS WORLDWIDE (YCYW)

BEING THE NATIONAL ADDRESS OF THE LEADERSHIP OF, YORUBA COUNCIL OF YOUTHS WORLDWIDE [YCYW] LED BY THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT HON., OJO BRIGHT I, ON THE SYNERGY, AMALGAMATION AND FORMATION OF A UNIFIED YORUBA YOUTH MOVEMENT. DITTO, THE DISSOLUTION OF [YCYW] AND ALL YORUBA YOUTH GROUPS AND MOVEMENT INTO ONE FORMIDABLE NATIONAL AND CENTRAL BODY DULY REGISTERED; YORUBA AFENIFERE YOUTH ORGANISATION OF NIGERIA [YAYON], AT THE NATIONAL SECRETARIAT, ON 31st, AUGUST 2019.

Following the historical antecedents of the Yoruba race and the quest for a prosperous nation by fore most Yoruba leaders, the clarion call for unification in-order to advance the ideals of the Yoruba race is rested on this generation again.
It is no gain saying that Yoruba race has had prominent sons and daughters whom had in time past upheld the tenets, principles, ethics and ethos for a better Yoruba nation. In purview of this, one is challenged by the eternal actions of our fore-fathers inclusive the dynamic roles of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, among other "PAN- yorubanists". The heritage of liberation passed down by our ancestors once again is driving us to the fore front to pursue vehemently to a logical conclusion the interest and development of the Yoruba nation.
Hence, the "iwa omoluabi" has been resuscitated, leading to a clarion call to the Afenifere development, particularly its youth wing via the amalgamation and conglomeration of all Yoruba youth groups into a one indivisible entity.

Yoruba Council of Youth World wide [YCYW] having accessed  and had robust engagement with all it's structures and members have given its consent to the yearnings and appeal of all well meaning Yoruba leaders and youths and our international and local constituents have ascended to demands to achieve a central leadership for the Yoruba youths. Today, August 31st 2019 in its quarterly meeting hereby pronounce the dissolution of YCYW into the Yoruba Afenifere Youth Organisation of Nigeria. Which comprises of the defunct YYC and many other Yoruba youth group. This merger is sequel to the clarion call of Yoruba monarchs, political, social and economic leaders for a centralised and formidable youth organisation, consequent upon the afore mentioned, all members of defunct YCYW are hence and now direct members of YAYON. YAYON henceforth becomes the supreme, apex and mother body of Yoruba youths both in Nigeria and diaspora.
The Leadership of YCYW wishes to appreciate all its members within and outside Nigeria for its steadfastness through the period of its leadership tussle. Their reposed confidence on the HON. Bright led administration saw to the end of the imposter who had relegated the sanctity of YCYW.
YCYW also wishes to appreciate all defunct Yoruba youth groups that has collapsed its structure into YAYON. Equally calling on any other youth group yet to collapse its structure to key into this development.
Furthermore, we are indebted to Members of our Board of Trustees (BOTs) for equally standing with us and keying into this development for the sacred interest and development of the Yoruba race. We believe that this collective Union of a Central Body is what is needed now, more than ever to address all of the lingering Issue facing the Yoruba nation. Henceforth, Yoruba Council of Youths (YCYW) seizes to exist as a body.
In conclusion; our members and all leadership structure within YCYW will be duely carried along in this restructuring. In the forthcoming press conference of YAYON proposed to be held in lagos, the media will be duely informed and all other issues pertaining to composition, constitution, and leadership will be unveiled, thank you and God bless.
