Following the visit last week of the Programme Coordinator of the National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO), Mrs Temitope Sinkaiye, the Ondo State Coordinator of the National Social Investment Scheme (NSIP), Mrs Olubunmi Ademosun has confirmed the commencement of enrollment and training of beneficiaries of the Conditional Cash Transfer in the State.
Mrs Ademosun made the confirmation during an exclusive interview with our correspondents in her office on Tuesday. She also confirmed that the Ondo State Government had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Social Investment Programmes of the Federal Government. According to her, "the Government of Ondo State under the leadership of His Excellency, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, is committed to the course of the Federal Government's empowerment programmes in the State and we have enjoyed His Excellency's unfettered support thus far".
It will be recalled that Mrs Sinkaiye had, during her visit last Wednesday, appealed to the Governor to provide adequate security for the staff of the National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO) who she said would be going round the State to register beneficiaries. Mrs Ademosun, while responding to this, assured that the Governor has put all necessary security measures in place in that regards.
