Sunshine Liberation Front(SLF), the eyes and ears of the good people of Ondo State, is worried about the huge fraud and corruption perpetrated in the government of today led by Arakunrin ‘Rotimi Akeredolu. It's more worrisome that this malfeasance is carried out in the Ministry of Transport and perfected by a certain Damorotex Global Concept.
One watches with shock and disbelief how men of the Task Force on indiscriminate parking and all sorts of vehicular “crimes” carry out their duties and cannot but agree there's a lot at stake for whoever in charge of the revenue collection and their colluding partner at Damorotex Global Concept, with an office at Mobil Fuel Station, Fiwasaye, Akure and another at Kilometer 5, Oda Road, Near Aye Community.
It's no news that any vehicle seized and towed away by the officials of the Ministry of Transport Task Force on Akure roads gets redeemed with #15,000. The offender is asked to pay #5,000 to the Ondo State Board of Internal Revenue while he/she deposits the remaining #10,000 into the Polaris Bank account of Damorotex Global Concept, 4091144873.
Ebenezer Afolami, an officer in charge at the Ministry of Transport, argued the #10,000 is the payment for the towing vehicle. A vehicle owned by the state government and bought by the last administration of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko?
Why pay the money into a private company account? Is Damorotex Global Concept a consulting firm for vehicle towing? Is the #10,000 their consulting fee per vehicle towed? Do they really own a towing vehicle while the one purchased and owned by the state government is no longer in use?
SLF is asking the state government led by Arakunrin ‘Rotimi Akeredolu to look into this allegation, carry out investigations, make public statement and reveal those behind this huge crime against the people of Ondo State in one week. Anything short of this, Sunshine Liberation Front will take all necessary legal actions to unmask the perpetrators, retrieve the millions of naira that has been deposited in Damorotex Global Concept Polaris Bank account and see to the incarceration of the criminals.
