CHIEF ATOLUSI DAMILOLA OFFICIAL DECLARATION, TO RUN FOR ODSG HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

AN OFFICIAL DECLARATION SPEECH OF ATOLUSI DAMILOLA ANTHONY (A.K.A CHIEF ANTOZ) FOR THE SEAT OF MEMBER OF HOUSE ASSEMBLY, AKURE SOUTH CONSTITUENCY II DELIVERED AT THE SDP LOCAL GOVERNMENT PARTY SECRETARIAT, AKURE

The Chairman, executives, elders, women and youths of Akure South, I bring you fraternal greetings as your child and an aspirant for the post of Ondo State House of Assembly come 2019.

I must humbly appreciate you all for this rare opportunity to present myself to you. I pray that the good Lord will strengthen our party as we finalize plans to nominate the flag-bearers for the general election.

I am Comrade Atolusi Damilola Anthony (Chief Antoz), an alumnus of Saint Thomas Aquinas College, Akure and also an alumnus of the prestigious Federal University of Technology Akure, from the department of Mining Engineering.

Just to mention few about my key leadership positions and why I think I am fit and able to deliver for the constituency I aspire to represent.

2. The Immediate past Chairman, National Association Of Nigerian Students, Joint Campus Committee, Ondo State Chapter (NANS, JCC ONDO AXIS)

3. Coordinator, Nigerian Youth for Good Governance, Ondo State.

Gentlemen, distinguished members of the party, I have the honour to reemphasize here today, that my mission is not in anyway related to making cheap popularity hitherto, but rather to restore our people's right in terms of proper representation that entails continuous agitation for our consistuency project, which is expected to be ceaselessly monitored to execution stage, projects that will affect our people positively and transform the constituency consequently, Nigeria has got to the stage where we need to collectively stop and say recurring 'No' to white elephant projects hefted for embezzlement only. Gentlemen, In order to neutralize the immediate poverty that befell our country as published by Brookings Institute, needless to say the effect is widely visible in all ramifications, a counterbalance approach through worthful bills needs to be implemented to cushion the effect gradually and annul completely with time, I am committed to doing that.

One of the pestilent problems we have is the alarming rate of unemployment and underemployment that keep increasing geometrical daily, which has turned our vibrant youths and able-bodied men into numb and crawled entity, while it has been widely acclaimed that Nigerians are brilliant mind with strong tenacity to succeed in every sphere of life, not excluding business, however, the aforementioned situation has pinned our people down, stranded by lack of capital, the few institutions that try to address the imbroglio have failed in their quest, rather than giving affordable loans to our young and astir men, they unfortunately become mission of wealth transfer among the elites, who only can provide collateral and overwhelming criteria demanded by the institutions.

 I stand before you today as one of you who knows where the shoe pinches to solemnly tell you, Irrespective of the circumstance even if I would have to fight tooth and nail, I look forward to sponsoring a bill at the House of Assembly, which allows Youth Empowerment Scheme to be allocated in the state budget, necessitating youth with entrepreneurial skills to take advantage of the substantial amount of the resources to kickstart businesses of their own, with at least a minimum capital that suits the business. I am also aware that few of the similar schemes by some States and federal  government are not easily accessible by the intended youth due to huge collateral required and other outrageous demands, this would be taken care of to ensure the purpose of the bill is met, as a means of reiteration.

My research team has already compiled the most deadly to minor challenges that battle each ward, moreover, we are rising from the ward, we know how the situation was, how it is, and of course the most feasible way to rescue the situation. Akure South Constituency Two in particular, has few schools that are outdated structurally and some with no significant educational facilities to aid teaching. In order to address the problem, we are going to start library project for the affected schools, that will be equipped with different facilities for an average Nigeria citizen to walk up and make use of, we will never allow anybody to rob our progenies, current and upcoming generations of qualitative education or shortchange it instead, solely to subject them to political slavery as it is of gullible persons that cannot differentiate right from left.

Here again, our democracy must be reformed, democracy and its dividend is meant to be for the populace as power and decision remain with the people, and needs and not be polarized by the few privileged ones that are exalted by same populace, thus, every man with good plan and intention irrespective of the background, party and education will be giving a free earing, regards will be given to good observations and reactions pertaining to ward issues and perhaps suggested solution, they would be duly noted, as we promised, this is a platform where people's voice will be heard as is expected of true democracy.

It is on this stupendous note void of known and unknown equivocation that I declare and announce to all people irrespective of race and color, that I, Chief Atolusi will be contesting as a Member of House of Assembly, Akure Constituency Two in the forthcoming election, to liberate our constituency and make it the envy among its equal.
