The National Association of Ondo state Students (NAOSS) has urged the state government to improve the welfare of students in order to boost their morale as pacesetters of the future.
The NAOSS National President , Comrade Akeredolu Emmanuel made the appeal in a statement in Akure on Monday to commemorate the New year .
Akeredolu said that NAOSS had harped on the need for all stakeholders to prioritise the basic challenges facing the Education sector in the state.
The National president assured Naossites that there would be prompt Visitation to all Secondary Schools across the 3 senatorial district within the state,
According to him, this is to ensure the transmission of qualitative and quantitative academic and moral knowledge to ONDO students.
“NAOSS is however sad at the level of education in the state especially at the primary and secondary levels.
“Especially considering the pressure, stress, energy, commitment, over populated schools and classes with few teachers, among other things they consistently face on daily basis, just to mould the leaders of today and tomorrow,’’
He earlier today itemized the activities the Association will be organizing this year.
He however, told Newsmen at the state's Capital (Akure) that her Annual Campus Tour will be the first on the list amidst all plans for this year, as the Campus Tour started late last year and only Institutions situated in the south western part of the country has been visited so far which include Adekunle ajasin university Akungba Akoko , Federal College of Agriculture Akure, School of Health Technology Akure, University of medical Sciences Ondo and many others.
Others include NAOSS national Week which Comprises of;
Sporting Activities, Social Activities,
educational seminars, inter secondary school debate, Health and security talk,
Award and Beauty pageants, etc
In his final words Akeredolu hammered on the most Pressing Issue of all which has been the bone of contention for months now, no other than the Bursary and Scholarship for Ondo students ,
"Agitation is on-going, alongside Consultation. The Association will do everything in it's Power to ensure that the Bursary and Scholarship will be paid soon.
