EPL: Watford appoints Javi Gracia as new manager after sacking Silva

English Premier league side, Watford have announced the appointment of Javi Gracia as new manager on 18-month contract replacing Marco Silva.

Silva was sacked in the earlier hours of on Sunday by the club after ‘unwarranted approach,’ from EPL rival, Everton and a poor run of form that saw just one win in 11 outings.

Gracia, 47, takes over as Watford’s 10th manager on an 18-month contract at Vicarage Road.

Watford said in a statement today, “The club announces the appointment of Javi Gracia as new manager on 18-month contract replacing Marco Silva.”

Gracia, who kept Malaga safely in mid-table after a financial meltdown had stripped them of their best players, including Santi Cazorla, will evaluate his squad after taking his first training session on Monday morning.
