PROFILING ONDO'S NEW SPEAKER, RT. HON. BAMIDELE DAVID OLEYELOGUNIJESU

For those who are avid watchers of events in the political space of Ondo state,  only little will be told about the genius that has recently emerged as the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly.  He's a distinguished member of the House of Assembly who in manifold has paid his dues in public office. This incredible subject is Rt. Hon (Prophet) Bamidele David Oleyelogunijesu.

Born about six decades ago into the family Pa. Abifawaye Oleyelogun and Mrs. Mary Oleyelogun in Isarun, Ifedore Local Government Council of Ondo State. He grew up in a polygamous family with children of the family.

He had his primary Education at St. Luke’s Anglican Primary School, Isarun and at C.A.C Primary, Igbaara Oke. His Secondary Education was in Apostolic High School Ilara – Mokin in 1983 and Aiyekale Community High School at Saki in 1998. For his post Secondary Education, Rt. Hon (Prophet) Bamidele David Oleyelogunijesu graduated with National Diploma (1996) and Higher National Diploma (2000) from Iree Polytechnic, Osun State. He also graduated from the Federal University of Technology, Akure with Masters Degree in Business Administration and Management. (2005)

Rt. Hon (Prophet) Bamidele David Oleyelogunijesu has several professional certificates which include: Certificate in Store and Materials Management/Purchasing and inventory Control, under World Bank assisted programme; Combatant Certified Chartered Buyer from Nigerian Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CPS I, II, III); Associate member of Nigerian Institute of Management; Associate member of Chartered Institute of Logistic and Transport. He had also attended several international seminars and conferences in countries like Ghana, Togo, South Africa, Dubai, Tanzania, USA, United Kingdom etc.

Rt. Hon (Prophet) Bamidele David Oleyelogunijesu grew from grass to grace. He rose from turbulent and helpless educative up growth through frustrating carrier ladder. He had been labourers to bricklayers, farmers, car wash among others. He started his formalcarrier in 1984 with Oyo North Agricultural Development Project, Saki (ONADEP), moved to Osun State AgriculturalDevelopment Project, Iwo Osun State between 1992 and 1998. He worked at Olashore International School between 2001 and 2005. He later worked at Redeemer’s University between 2005 and 2007 as the head of store before he moved to National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) as the Chief Store Officer for the period of 2007 and 2010.

Meanwhile, Rt. Hon (Prophet) Bamidele David Oleyelogunijesu in his interest towards humanity had always made him participate in different political activities such as been the President of Student Union Government at Iree Polytechnic, Iree Osun State and held several executive positions before he finally resigned and contested as member of Ondo State House of Assembly to represent Ifedore State Constituency which he won after the second time in 2011 under Labour Party. He recontested for second term in 2015 under the PDP and he won gallantly to the glory of God.

He held several important positions in the House of Assembly, which include the following: Chairman House Committee on MDGs; Chairman House Committee on Culture and Tourism; Chairman House Committee on Utility, Transport and Special Duties; Chairman House Committee on Health; Vice Chairman House Committee on Tender committee; Vice Chairman on Finance and Appropriation; Vice Chairman House Committee on PHC Government Account; Vice Chairman House Committee on Women Affairs among others.

He's also a member to almost all committees of the House of Assembly. Rt. Hon (Prophet) Bamidele David Oleyelogunijesu was the Parliamentary Secretary of the Assembly till he was elected and legally sworn in as the Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly.

Rt. Hon. Bamidele David Oleyelogunijesu is a spirit- filled man of God. He was conferred Alore of Ihinrere Chieftaincy title at St. Luke Anglican Church Isarun (2010) and later as Evangelist at St. Luke Anglican church, Isarun (2012) also as Evangelist at Wings of Praise Soul Winning Church Ibadan (2013).

He is the founder of Soul Winning Spiritual Evangelical Church which is located at Unity Estate, Oda town Akure. He is also the prophet in charge of Oke Isegun Ase kiki Oro Prayer Mountain, located at opposite Ogbe High School, Oda, Akure.  Rt. Hon (Prophet) Bamidele David Oleyelogunijesu is happily married to Prophetess (Mrs.) Olufunke Juliana Oleyelogunijesu and blessed with glorious and blessed children.
