HUMAN RIGHT GROUP TASKS OSUN GOVT ON STUDENTS EMPOWERNMENT

By Sodiq Lawal

A human right group, Campus Reformation Movement (CRM) has commended
the Osun State Government led by Mr Rauf Aregbesola in its relentless effort in making education standard in the state,  just as it tasked the State Government to invest in students
empowerment to engage and
encourage students at various levels of education.

The position was made yesterday by the group’s President, Comrade Mojeed Jamiu on the campus of Osun State Polytechnic, OSPOLY, Iree with an interactive meeting of the group with
some students of the institution.

Jamiu lamented  that OSPOLY students have been facing problem with the epileptic power supply and low water supply in the institution which has drastically affected the students from enjoying conducive learning.

"On the issue of the problem that students are facing from the angle of our management is the issue of our Student Union Government in which the management is trying to deprive us from the election" He said.

He noted that part of the achievement that the institution has equipped the students on is the aspect of empowering the students by introducing  entrepreneurship as a compulsory course to all students which has  helped each student to know the aspect they can lay  hands on when graduating from the institution.

However, the group appealed and called on the state government to take more
seriously on students
empowerment.

The group recommended that the State Government to swiftly embark on educational projects and infrastructural development and capacity
developmental programs for students in the institution.
