JIMOH IBRAHIM JITTERY OVER RESOLUTION OF PDP CRISIS, AS PARTY ADOPTS JEGEDE AS GUBER CANDIDATE

Worried by the heightened move to put an end to the lingering crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the national level, embattled and controversial businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim has reportedly relocated to Abuja to save himself of impending humiliation that may befall him when the crisis is finally resolved.

It would be recalled that the two factional National Chairmen of the party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and Senator Makarfi met in Abuja on Tuesday where they announced their intent to work together to resolve the crisis rocking the party. A move political observers have described as a giant step towards positioning the opposition party back to winning ways.

But one of those who seem not to be favoured by the move to resolve the crisis is maverick businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim, who, as a member of Accord Party, was reported to had sought to benefit from the crisis by parading himself as the factional governorship candidate of the PDP in Ondo State just as the leadership of the party has sent the name of Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) to INEC as it's flagbearer for the November 26th Ondo governorship election.

According to a source at the national secretariat of the PDP in Abuja, "since the news to resolve the crisis by the two gladiators was reported in the media on Tuesday evening, Ibrahim flew into Abuja on Tuesday night with bags of money to induce the leaders of the party to adopt him as the standard flagbearer of the party against the party's choice, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), a former Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State. His offer was however turned down by the party leaders, who told Ibrahim they can't bend the law and the democratic process that produced Jegede as the party's candidate to accomodate his frivolities."

The party leaders under the Sheriff faction, who were said to have been contemplating on how to cancel the sham primaries that produced Ibrahim in Ibadan the Oyo state capital due to the catalog of petitions against Ibrahim, saw the move to resolve the crisis in the party as a better avenue to work with Jegede.

One of Ibrahim's close aides who spoke to our corespondent on condition of anonimity said "Oga is just having fun and wants to be a spoiler due to the protracted supremacy battle he's been having with Governor Olusegun Mimiko. When the time comes he'll surely leave the stage, but for now let's enjoy the drama. Ambassador wants to prove to Mimiko that he also has influence at the national level like the Governor."
