A Governorship Aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Mr. Victor Olabimtan has assured the people of Ondo Ekimogun that he would divide the current Ondo East and West Local Government Areas into five if he win the November 26th governorship election in the state.
Olabimtan, a former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly made this known on Wednesday in Ondo town while meeting with APC delegates ahead of the party's governorship primaries scheduled to hold this Saturday in Akure, the state capital.
In his words, Olabimtan said the current Ondo East and West Council Areas are to big to bring governance closer to the people.
"By the special grace of God almighty, I will divide the current Ondo East and West Local Government Areas into five if God use you people to grant me sovereignty of Ondo State people.
"The primary objective of local government is to bring government closer to the people. However, if I'm not mistaken, there's no way development and dividends of democratic governance can be closer to the grassroots in Ondo East and West with an amazing ease if something is not done in a jiffy to correct this injustice.
"I promise to correct this injustice. I am telling you without any fear or Favour that I will divide Ondo East and West into five LGAs so that the common people can feel the impact of government" He said.
The former Commissioner representing Ondo, Ekiti and Edo in the Federal Civil Service Commissioner also promised to be realistic in his approach to governance.
He urged APC delegates in the two local government areas to vote for him at the primaries, promising never not fail them.
He also appealed to them against voting for the money bags at the primaries, stressing that integrity, accessibility and competence should form the direction of voting for the delegates and not money.
