They’re after my life ‘cos of Obaseki — Igbafe

EDO State Director of Poverty Alleviation
Agency, Mrs. Evelyn Igbafe, yesterday blamed
her political differences with the APC candidate,
Mr. Godwin Obaseki for the attack on her in her
Benin residence yesterday. Mrs. Igbafe, a leading
chieftain of the APC remained undaunted,
yesterday, insisting that Obaseki would not fly as
the party’s candidate in the election.

Responding, Mr. Osarodion Ogie, Obaseki’s
campaign manager said the issue was an internal
affair which is being addressed as a family
matter by the reconciliation committee.
Giving details on the attack on her, Igbafe said,
she noticed through her CCTV some strange
elements who came into her compound with
some policemen.

“I interrogated the policemen, gentlemen, what
can I do for you? They said the Commissioner of
Police said the Governor said that they should
come and pick your official car. I said official car?
I replied by saying that the official cars were
purchased by the tax-payers money. And all the
structures he is going about doing, is tax-payers
money and I can never give you the key to the
cars."

Igbafe, wondered why the government had to
engage the services of thugs demanding for her
official vehicles when she was yet to been
officially relived of her duties insisting that
Governor Adams Oshiomhole has been misled
by some unnamed individuals ahead of the
governorship election.

“I am still standing by my words then; Obaseki is
an unripe mango and unripe tomato. Nobody will
buy him. So, let them get ready to carry pump
action and AK-47 rifle to come and meet me.

•As Eribo wants her sanctioned

THE member representing Egor constituency in
the Edo State House of Assembly, Mr Crosby
Eribo, has called for sanctions on APC members
who pour insult on Governor Adams Oshiomhole
over the loss of their preferred aspirants in the
recently concluded governorship polls.

Eyibo spoke in reaction to assertions by party
chieftain, Mrs. Evelyn Igbafe, that the governor
had perfected plans to kill her because she
refused to support Obaseki.

“That was very uncomplimentary and
unacceptable. Of what political relevance is
Igbafe to APC that will warrant the governor to
kill her. Igbafe and others should see how
Obaseki even congratulated Ize-Iyamu and that
shows the kind of person he is, it shows he is
focused on how to serve the people and not
fighting anybody.

“I have watched her comments and for me it
does not make sense. We even learnt that she
called the Esama of Benin who sent camera men
to her house and she equally confessed to
journalists that she had called the governorship
candidate of the PDP, Pastor Ize-Iyamu that
Oshiomhole brought people to kill her.
