THE Ondo state government and the
opposition All Progressives Congress, APC,
weekend trade blames over the overseas trip of
Governor Olusegun Mimiko, while workers are
on strike over unpaid salaries.
While the APC rebuked the governor for
travelling while the workers suffer, the
government fired back, saying the trip was on
invitation.
The government said the governor went to
London on the invitation of the Royal Institute of
International Affairs, Chatham House for the
2016 London Conference, where he spoke on
“Health care for All: From Aspiration to
Implementation.
But the opposition in the state through its
Director of Media and Publicity, Steve Otaloro in
Akure; ‘’Traveling out without making any
meaningful effort to end the strike action.
“This is a height of callousness on the part of
Governor Mimiko and it is totally unacceptable
to the people who elected him to take care of
their welfare.''
