Court sends 24-year-old man to Kirikiri for allegedly defiling 3-year-old girlL

An Ikeja Chief Magistrates' Court on Thursday
remanded a 24-year-old man, Savior Edith to
Kirikiri Prison for allegedly defiling his
neighbour’s three-year-old daughter.
The prosecutor, Insp. Benedict Aigbokhan told
the court that the accused, who lives at 19,
Ishajimi St., Agege, a suburb of Lagos, defiled
the girl on March 23.
``The accused called the girl inside his room and
defiled her, it was her cry that alerted her
mother and the accused was apprehended," the
prosecutor said.
He said that the offence contravened Section 137
of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, ordered
that the accused be remanded till April 20
pending determination of his bail application.
