The governor, however, asked his colleagues in other states to come to Ekiti for lessons in financial management.
Reacting to the development in an interview with our correspondent on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Lanre Ogunsuyi, who spoke on behalf of the governor said, “It is a welcome development and the governors should know it would not be a perpetual development; they should manage the money well.
“If they need any lesson in financial management, they should come to Ekiti State where the governor is doing well despite the financial burden inherited from the previous administration.”
Also reacting, the Chairman of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Ekiti State University branch, Mr. Ismail Falade, advised the states to manage the money well to avoid falling into the same error in the future.
He said the bailout was a great relief to the university system.
