Ondo State Speaker, Rt Hon Coker Adeniyi Malachi received a rousing welcome when he visited Ilaje local Government, Igbokoda which is his home Local Government.
Malachi was in the local government as a special Guest on a wedding program and a burial ceremony as part of his visit to the local government to foster peace and appreciation to God for his kindness support.
The Speaker was in the local government on Saturday, March 25th at about 3:30pm shortly after he left Akure where he was received by Ilaje Leadership Forum and his party (PDP).
Leadership of Ilaje Leadership Forum have been appreciating God for a well deserved position in the state to have produced the state number three citizen. Speaking with our correspondence, the Admin and Publicity Secretary of Ilaje Leadership Forum, Prince Emorioloye Owolemi said that Ilaje Leadership Forum purposely organizing the welcome event party for the Speaker to appreciate God, and to prove to the state that Ilaje is in need of developmental and key position in the state.
"Since the creation of Ondo state, it has been unfortunate that Ilaje is yet to hold key position in the state despite its resources using to feed the State. We appreciated God for using Coker Adeniyi Malachi to occupy the state number three position. We are still calling on the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the Federal Government to honour the oil rich local government with more key position. Also commending on the event was the Assistant general Secretary of PDP in Ilaje Local Government, Barrister Jolaade Aladetan said that the event was a welcome Development, and that PDP is unite in Ilaje Local Government
"The PDP kinsmen of all factions came out in emmas to welcome the Speaker Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Coker Adeniyi Malachi. It was a joy having him today. PDP is unite in Ilaje Local Government. We are all of makarfi faction. We urged the Ondo State government and the Federal government to please honour ilaje people with more Developmental projects". Barrister Aladetan said.
Meanwhile, the Speaker added that: "I am here with cabinets colleagues and heads of relevant agencies to propose a new vision, signposting a new era for our people in Ondo State".
The Speaker admonished the people and appreciated them for a welcome party organized to honor God.
" I am well pleased to appreciate my people today, especially the leadership of Ilaje Leadership Forum and my great party PDP. I really appreciate them. Despite this short program for me to visit Ilaje, it makes me feel like home today as my people teamed up to welcome me. I will use the authority given to me by God, to rescue my people. The issue of electricity power in the southern part is on my table, by God grace, I will liase with the Governor to make sure power electricity is restore to the southern part soon.
"We must not allow anyone to persuade us to destroy investments, or pollute our environment to prove a point or to get a few benefits". The Speaker said.
