Solidarity greetings from the apex body governing all the entire students of Ondo State under the leadership of Nans Jcc Ondo Axis Comrade Antolusi Anthony ANTOZ.
Sequence to the recent crisis rocking the ONDO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY in which the house noticed misappropriation of funds which eventually led to the impeachment of the SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE, HON. JUMOKE AKINDELE has now rose to a new stage in which the powers of the house is being tampered with.
It must be acknowledge that the former speaker was impeached due to gross misappropriation of funds which was investigated and eventually linked to the former speaker has now gotten to the stage in which the governor of the state under the leadership of GOV. OLUSEGUN MIMIKO is planning on reinstating the impeached speaker in place of the newly elected HON.WOLE COKER
It must be stressed that the house of assembly members has the constitutional rights to impeach a speaker under the provision of constitution that binds the house of Representatives. Hence, 2/3 of the parliamentarians has the Constitution right to Regulate the Proceedings of the House.
The autonomy of the house must prevail has the members acted under the provision of the constitution in removing the former speaker. So the rule of law must be respected.
In line with the constitution of the house, it will be acrimonious and a great hubris for the governor of the state in person of GOV. OLUSEGUN MIMIKO to go beyond the constituted rights of the house in bringing back the former speaker.
We are using this medium to appeal to the governor of the state to abstain from his said actions towards bringing back the former speaker in order for the house to act fully within the jurisdiction of the provision of the Constitution.
We urge every stakeholders, Especially every members of the house not to be weary, And also they must be prepared to ensure that the rule of law must stand.
