Short Note From Hon. Comm. Economic Planning and Budget, Represented by Director of Economic and Budget 'Mr Victor'
I am delighted to be here today on the occassion of the 2016 Student Economic Summit orgnised by the National Association of Ondo State Students (National Body). Today's summit a first of it kind, is apposite and quite commendable in view of the present economic realities in the country. Nigeria economy is in a parious state that cannot be overemphasised. Government and other public institutions are finding it diffcult to perform basic stationary responsiblities. Workers are being owed salaries in spite of the best efforts put forword by affected authorities.
The prognosis about our economy is dire, the consequences of poor response will be catastrophic. If urgent remedial action is not taken, job losses will continue unabated, unemployment will skyrocket violent crime and insecurity will become uncontrollable and generally the quality of life will quickly depreciate.
He later concluded that as a nation, we must forbear, we must persevere, we must be innovative and think out of the box, so that will be able to seek credible solutions to the present economic situation.
